Yewa FC Academy Star Omotosho Taiwo Completes Move To Croatian Side Mladost Petrinja

Former Yewa FC Academy Captain, Omotosho Taiwo Babatunde has completed a move to Croatian third-tier club GSNK Mladost Petrinja, taking another significant step in his budding football career after impressing with Yewa Academy

Omotosho, who signed for the Croatian outfit four days ago, joins the club following an impressive Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign with Yewa FC Academy, where he established himself as one of the team’s key attacking players.


The talented forward scored five goals during the NLO season, contributing significantly to Yewa FC Academy’s impressive campaign as the club narrowly missed out on promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL). His performances further highlighted the academy’s growing reputation for identifying and developing young talents.

The 18-year-old has already made an encouraging impact in Croatia, scoring in each of his last two games since arriving at Mladost Petrinja. His early goalscoring form is a promising sign as he begins adapting to European football and his new surroundings.


Omotosho’s move represents another important milestone for Yewa FC Academy, whose rapid rise has been marked by domestic success, European partnerships and the movement of promising players to clubs abroad. The academy has continued to position itself as a pathway for young Nigerian footballers seeking opportunities on the international stage.


For Omotosho, the move to Mladost Petrinja provides a fresh platform to develop his game, gain valuable European football experience and pursue his ambition of progressing to higher levels of the professional game.

He said after signing the deal ,"I am very happy to sign my first professional contract. Its a proud moment for me and i will do my best for the team"

Yewa FC Academy Chairman, Mojeed Ibrahim described  Taiwo as a fantastic talent, noting that the move is another success story of the Academy. He added that the Academy will continue provide oppurtunities for talented footballer to take their career to the next level.

"We are truly glad for this moment and for Taiwo. He is a great talent and we wish him the best in his new club" the club chairman said.
