Yewa FC Academy clinch Samurai league title with unbeaten record

Yewa FC Academy have been crowned champions of the 2025 Samurai Football League after finishing top of the table with an impressive unbeaten record in the four-team competition which was held in Ikenne,Ogun State.

The young side, who are barely two months old and only began operations on 21 October 2025, proved their quality and resilience throughout the tournament, amassing seven points from three matches to emerge winners.
HiYewa FC Academy opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over M&N FC, before consolidating their dominance with a convincing 2–0 win against Amazing Boys FC in Match 2. They wrapped up their remarkable run with a 1–1 draw against Elegant Football Academy, ensuring they completed the Samurai League without defeat.

With two wins, one draw, three goals scored and just one conceded, Yewa FC Academy’s performance marks a landmark achievement for a club still in its infancy.

The Samurai League featured four participating academies, but Yewa FC Academy stood out with discipline, tactical organization and consistency, showing huge promise for the future as they approach their second month of existence.

The triumph not only hands the academy its first major honour but also signals the arrival of a fast-growing football project destined for greater accomplishments.

The Club which was founded in 2025 by the Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (Union SG), and Nigerian-Canadian footballer, Promise David aims to help discover more football talents and connect them with opportunities.

The club recently struck partnership with top European Clubs in Belgium like Anderlecht FC, Club Brugge and Genk FC for player's development and transfer.

The partnership seeks to open up the Nigerian-Europe market for players at the grassroots.

The partnership came on the heels of a recent meeting between the representative of Yewa FC and a widely travelled and connected football administrator, Mr. Solomon David Bamidele, who is also President of ASVO and father of Promise David.

Mojeed Ibrahim a top football manager who oversees administrative operations at the club commended both the technical crew and players of the club for clinching the tournament, even as he urged them not to relent in their pursuit for excellence.
