Valiant FC Product Abdulraqeeb Marks NPFL Debut With Goal In Sporting Lagos’ Away Win At Enyimba
Valiant FC product Abdulraqeeb Abdullahi Abdullah announced his arrival on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) stage in memorable fashion, scoring on his debut as Sporting Lagos secured an impressive 3–2 away victory over Enyimba in Aba.

The young defender calmly powered home a header to register his first NPFL goal and help Sporting Lagos claim all three points against the nine-time Nigerian champions.

For Abdulraqeeb, the goal represents another significant milestone in a remarkable progression through the ranks of Nigerian football. His journey has taken him from the TCC and NLO to the Nigeria National League (NNL), before finally earning his opportunity at the NPFL level with Sporting Lagos.

Abdulraqeeb was an important member of the Sporting Lagos side that secured promotion to the NPFL from the NNL and also won the NNL Super 8 trophy, establishing himself as one of the products of Valiant's player-development structure.

His latest achievement further highlights the growing pathway created by Valiant FC for young footballers to progress from grassroots football to the professional stage.

The defender's NPFL debut also provides another proud moment for Valiant FC CEO, Japhet Zubairu, and the club's development project, with Abdulraqeeb now making his mark alongside another Valiant product, Gafar Olaniyan, who recently joined Sporting Lagos.

From the TCC, through the NLO and NNL, to the NPFL, Abdulraqeeb's journey is becoming a strong example of how sustained development and competitive exposure can prepare young players for the highest level of domestic football.

For Valiant FC, his goal in Aba is more than just a debut strike. It is another confirmation that the club's investment in developing young footballers is beginning to produce players capable of making an impact on the biggest stage.
