Massive turnover as Grassrunners FC records 16 international transfers in two years
Grassrunners FC has highlighted its growing impact in player development after recording the transfer of 16 players to clubs across different countries in the last two years, describing the achievement as another step in its commitment to developing football talents for the global stage.
The Nigerian-based club, who recently won the prestigious Ogunjobi Preseason tournament in a post on its official pages revealed the movement of its players to clubs in Sweden, France, Egypt, Turkey, the United States, Latvia, Austria and Germany reflects the progress being made through its player development pathway.
Among the players who have secured international moves are Angelo to Djurgårdens IF and Bonaventure to Västerås SK in Sweden, while Godwin Itotomi and Abdoulaye Agbejoye joined Stade de Reims in France. Razak Labode moved to ENPPI Club, while Boluwatife joined National Bank of Egypt.
Other players include Chisum Olugo and Toheeb Kosoko, who moved to Ümraniyespor in Turkey, while Oluwasegun Taofeek joined Hartford Athletic in the United States. Papi moved to Charlotte FC, Mandeke joined Riga FC in Latvia, and Sahidu Musa secured a move to SW Bregenz in Austria.
Germany has also become another destination for Grassrunners talents, with Emmanuel Chukwu and Precious Benjamin joining TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, while Michael Egbemba and Wilfried Teukeu moved to El Gouna FC in Egypt. The club says the 16 transfers represent only part of its broader vision, with more players expected to take the next step in their careers.

The development has been described as a huge turnover of investment for the club established two years ago and has become the hub of African football talent and proudly driven by an astute football manager and administrator, Gbenga Agbejoye.
