High Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka Heads Kwara SWAN 2026 Week Committee
The Kwara State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has appointed High Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka as Chairman of the Planning Committee for the 2026 Kwara SWAN Week.

Chukwuemeka, a renowned sports administrator, peace and strategic scholar, will lead the committee responsible for planning and coordinating activities for the annual programme.

Other members of the committee are one-time chairman of the body, Bunmi Adedoyin; former vice chairman, Toyin Saheed; veteran sportscaster, Bayour Issah; Kayode Alakija, Micheal Odetunde, Moyinoluwa Bankole and Nusirat Popoola. 

Speaking on the committee, Kwara SWAN Chairman, Mallam Ayodeji Ismail, said the appointment was part of the chapter's commitment to ensuring a well-organised and impactful SWAN Week. 

He expressed confidence in the ability of the committee members to work together and deliver a programme that would strengthen unity among members while creating meaningful opportunities for professional growth and engagement.

The committee is expected to work closely with the leadership of Kwara SWAN to develop and deliver a memorable and impactful 2026 SWAN Week programme.

Kwara SWAN Week is an annual programme designed to bring members of the association together through activities that promote unity, professional development, networking, welfare and stronger relationships between sports journalists and key stakeholders in the sports industry.

Meet Ilorin-born Soliu Ajia Yakubu,Flying Eagles Goalkeeper for AFCON  An Ilorin-born goalkeeper, Soliu Ajia Yakubu, will wear the Nigerian badge at the upcoming U20 AFCON tournament in Egypt. The former Gidado Football Academy player was part of the squad listed for the AFCON final list by Coach Aliyu Zubairu. Soliu currently ply his trade in Serbian league with FK Novia Pazar.
