Niger Tornadoes hold one day seminar on laws of the game ahead of new NPFL season


Niger Tornadoes FC has participated in a one-day seminar focused on the Laws of the Game ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The seminar provided an important platform for the club’s players, technical crew and instructors to examine the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game and improve their understanding of the regulations that govern football.


The session focused extensively on the amendments introduced for the 2026/27 season, with the instructors taking participants through the key changes and their practical implications for players and technical officials.

A major highlight of the programme was a brainstorming session involving the instructors, players and technical crew of Niger Tornadoes. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to seek clarification on different aspects of the laws, discuss match situations and gain a clearer understanding of how the amended regulations should be applied on the field of play.

Particular attention was given to the consequences attached to players’ actions on the pitch, as well as the implications of failing to adhere strictly to the Laws of the Game. The instructors clearly explained the possible sanctions and disciplinary consequences that may arise from different forms of misconduct or violations.

The club's participation in the seminar is expected to further strengthen the players’ knowledge of the rules and promote greater discipline, professionalism and awareness among members of the team ahead of the new season.

With the 2026/27 league campaign approaching, the programme forms part of Niger Tornadoes’ preparations to ensure that its players and technical personnel are adequately equipped not only physically and tactically, but also with a proper understanding of the regulations governing the game.

Meet Ilorin-born Soliu Ajia Yakubu,Flying Eagles Goalkeeper for AFCON  An Ilorin-born goalkeeper, Soliu Ajia Yakubu, will wear the Nigerian badge at the upcoming U20 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
