Ex-Flying Eagles star, Alabi joins Armenia top flight club


Nigerian midfielder Suleiman Alabi has completed a move to Armenian First Division club Sardarapat FC, a new chapter in his promising career.

The Armenian club officially announced the signing of the 20-year-old, welcoming him to the team ahead of the new season.

Alabi arrives from El-Kanemi Warriors, where he established himself as a hardworking and technically gifted midfielder. During his time with the Maiduguri-based club, he was part of the squad that lifted the 2024 President Federation Cup, one of the club’s most memorable achievements in recent years.

The talented midfielder also represented Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, helping the team win the bronze medal at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

His performances at youth international level highlighted his potential and earned him recognition as one of Nigeria’s exciting young prospects.

A product of La Planet FC, Alabi has continued his development through the Nigerian football system, and his move to Sardarapat FC offers him an opportunity to begin a new challenge in European football.

In announcing the signing, Sardarapat FC welcomed Alabi to the club and expressed confidence that he would contribute to the team’s ambitions in the upcoming season.

The move adds to the growing number of young Nigerian footballers making the transition to European clubs as they continue their development and pursue careers on the international stage.

Meet Ilorin-born Soliu Ajia Yakubu,Flying Eagles Goalkeeper for AFCON  An Ilorin-born goalkeeper, Soliu Ajia Yakubu, will wear the Nigerian badge at the upcoming U20 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
