Zamfara Police Commissioner Reportedly Named IGP's Best Commissioner of Police of the Month for the Second Time


The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, psc+, mnips, has reportedly been named the Inspector-General of Police's Best Commissioner of Police of the Month for the second time.

According to the report, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Tunji Disu, recognized CP Bello for his outstanding leadership, professionalism, and commitment to combating crime and improving security in Zamfara State.

Before his appointment as Commissioner of Police in Zamfara, CP Bello served in several key positions within the Nigeria Police Force. During his service in Borno State, he held the positions of Assistant Commissioner of Police and later Deputy Commissioner of Police, where he contributed to security operations against insurgency.

 Following his promotion to Commissioner of Police, he was posted to the Police College, Maiduguri, as Deputy Commandant before his deployment to Zamfara State.

Within his first four months as Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, the command reported the following achievements:

Recovery of over 1,000 rounds of
 ammunition.

Recovery of more than 40 firearms.

Neutralization of about 400 bandits.

Rescue of more than 300 kidnap victims.

Recovery of over 2,000 cattle.

Facilitation of the return of thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their ancestral communities.

Sustained security operations through community engagement and effective inter-agency collaboration.

Improved welfare for police personnel, particularly officers serving in frontline operational areas.

Strengthened collaboration with traditional institutions, becoming one of the first Commissioners of Police in the state to visit traditional rulers in their palaces to seek their support in tackling kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, cultism, and other crimes.

CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello is widely described by colleagues and members of the public as a disciplined, dedicated, and people oriented police officer. His commitment to professionalism, integrity, and public service has earned him recognition and admiration.
