Unstoppable Na Royal Football Academy storm into Dana Cup 2026 final


NA Royal Football Academy, Ilemona, has continued its remarkable run at the prestigious Dana Cup 2026 in Hjørring, Denmark, after defeating Tanzania's One-Tanzanite FC 4-2 on penalties to book a place in the U18/U19 final of the international youth football tournament.

The Nigerian representatives produced another disciplined and determined performance in a fiercely contested semi-final, displaying resilience, composure, and exceptional football artistry against a highly competitive Tanzanian side. After an evenly balanced encounter ended in a stalemate in regulation time, NA Royal FC held their nerve during the penalty shootout to secure a memorable 4-2 victory.

The latest triumph extends the academy's unbeaten run at the tournament, having earlier topped Group 12 with a perfect record of three wins from three matches, scoring 14 goals without conceding a single goal.

Throughout the competition, NA Royal FC have impressed with their attacking flair, defensive solidity, tactical discipline, and winning mentality, further showcasing the quality of grassroots football development in Nigeria.

With a place in the final now secured, the Ilemona-based academy will shift its attention to the championship match as they aim to complete their fairytale campaign by lifting the coveted Dana Cup 2026 trophy.

The achievement is a proud moment for Nigeria, Kwara State, and the Ilemona community, as football enthusiasts continue to rally behind the young stars in their quest for international glory.
