The event attracted football lovers and community stakeholders, celebrating Engr. Dada’s impact, particularly during his tenure as the State Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAMP), a position he recently resigned from to pursue his political ambition.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, the former State Coordinator of the RAMP described the recognition as both humbling and inspiring.
“I feel so honoured and very grateful. This kind of recognition does not come by chance; it is earned through discipline and hard work,” he said.
The APC candidate, acknowledged the support of the people of Maitumbi and the wider constituency, expressing optimism for continued collaboration.
He emphasized that discipline and hard work remain the guiding principles behind his achievements, urging young people, especially aspiring footballers, to stay committed and focused in their pursuits.
Reaffirming his commitment to service, Engr. Dada assured that despite his transition into politics, he would continue to support developmental initiatives, particularly in youth engagement and sports development within his constituency and beyond.
Speaking at the event, the Acting State Coordinator of RAMP and Chairman of Unity Football Club, Engr. Isah Isah Abdullahi, said the recognition was well deserved, noting that Engr. Dada’s impact is evident, especially in youth engagement and football development.
He highlighted the growth and organization of Unity Boys Football Club, as well as improved synergy within the local football structure.
Engr. Abdullahi, who succeeded Engr. Dada in an acting capacity, described their working relationship as one built on understanding, patience, and professionalism. He added that he had learned extensively from his predecessor, whose leadership style he continues to emulate.
He further explained that the event was organised not only to celebrate Engr. Dada’s achievements but also to appreciate his contributions to the people of Bosso and Paikoro, expressing confidence in his future political aspirations.
On the sustainability of the football club, Engr. Abdullahi assured that structures have been put in place to ensure continued progress, citing the presence of a strong technical crew, including a team manager and experienced coaches committed to developing the players.
He expressed optimism that with sustained support and proper management, Unity Boys Football Club will achieve greater success in the coming years, maintaining its role in nurturing young football talents in the state.
After being impressed by the performance of Unity FC, who defeated the feeder team of Niger Tornadoes FC 2–0 in the ceremonial match, the Chairman of the Niger State Football Association (NSFA), Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, in his usual manner, gifted the team a slot in the Nationwide League One (NLO) Division Two.
The ceremonial match served not only as a celebration of his achievements but also as a rallying point for unity and continued investment in grassroots football in the state.
