NSFA Chairman tasks teams on discipline as Niger state league enters round of 16

The Chairman of the Niger State Football Association (NSFA), Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, has charged teams that have qualified for the Round of 16 of the ongoing Niger State Super League to maintain a high level of discipline, professionalism, and sportsmanship as the competition progresses.

Comrade Ahmed gave the charge in a congratulatory message to the teams, commending them for their impressive performances in the preliminary stage of the tournament, noting that their qualification for the knockout phase is a clear reflection of their strength, quality, and determination.

According to him, discipline will play a crucial role in determining the eventual winners, as he urged the teams to conduct themselves both on and off the pitch in a manner that upholds the integrity of the game.

The NSFA Chairman also emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and mutual respect among players, officials, and supporters, stressing that football should remain a unifying force across the state.

While congratulating the successful teams, Comrade Ahmed also acknowledged the efforts of those who participated but could not advance to the next round, describing them as gallant competitors who gave their best despite falling short.

He further reassured all stakeholders of the Association’s commitment to fairness, equal treatment, and professionalism throughout the tournament, noting that no team would be given undue advantage.

The Chairman also commended referees and other match officials for their performances so far, urging them to sustain the high standards of officiating in subsequent matches.

In addition, he praised the tournament coordinators for their dedication and effective organization, describing their contributions as vital to the success of the competition.

Comrade Ahmed concluded by calling on all participating teams to remain focused, disciplined, and united, expressing optimism that the tournament would continue to showcase the best of grassroots football in Niger State.

Meanwhile, teams that qualified for the Round of 16 include Turaki FC Kuta and Novelty FC Minna from Group A. In Group B, Golden Eaglets of Zungeru and Tunga Pillars FC qualified, while Rising Stars of Kontagora and Giant FA of Minna progressed from Group C. Group D qualifiers are Net Shakers of Minna and Ogo Selected, also of Minna.

Other qualified teams include Dan Darma FC of Paiko and TF Strikers of Bosso in Group E; Infinity FC of Suleja and Gausiya FC of Bosso in Group F; Makera FC and Net Shakers of Gawu from Group G; and Flourish FC alongside Ado Babes of Minna from Group H. The Round of 16 matches are scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
