Coach Dogo Marks 20 Years As Magaji Of Odo-Okun, Dedicates Federation Cup Glory To Emir Of Ilorin,Family
The Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes, Coach Kabiru Dogo, has dedicated his 2026 President Federation Cup triumph to his 20th anniversary on the throne as Magaji Odo-Okun of Ilorin, Kwara State.
Dogo made the dedication during a special thanksgiving prayer organized by his family and the Odo-Okun community to mark two decades of his chieftaincy title.
The former Kwara United gaffer, who led El-Kanemi to a 1-0 victory over Ikorodu City in Asaba to win Nigeria’s oldest knockout trophy, said the milestone was made possible by God’s grace, wisdom, and guidance.
"I thank God Almighty for granting me the opportunity to mark 20 years as Magaji Odo-Okun in good health, happiness and divine wisdom. My journey so far has been one of God’s favor and protection over me, my family, and the entire community," Dogo said.
Despite the demands of a coaching career that often takes him away from home, the Magaji said peace and unity have remained the hallmark of the Odo-Okun community.
"As a coach, I travel a lot and I am not always around. But God has been faithful to us. We have maintained peace and unity. We see ourselves as one big family, and that has helped in developing our community," he added.
Dogo dedicated the historic trophy to the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, all traditional title holders, his family, the Odo-Okun community, and the good people of Kwara State.
"I also appreciate everyone who offered prayers, goodwill messages, support and encouragement during the Federation Cup final and after the match. Your support yielded positive results. I thank everyone who contributed to the huge success of this 20-year celebration and to winning the FA Cup in 2026," he concluded
