Coach Aliyu Zubair Presented with Symbolic FIFA U-20 World Cup Commemorative Medallion

Coach Aliyu Zubair was on Tuesday presented with a symbolic FIFA U-20 World Cup commemorative medallion during the Kwara SWAN Media Advancement Seminar for Football Coaches held in Ilorin.

The medallion, which commemorates participation at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, was earned by Zubair following his successful qualification of Nigeria's U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, for the global tournament.

The symbolic presentation was performed by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bola Mogaji, during the seminar where Zubair served as one of the facilitators.

Zubair was head coach of the Flying Eagles between 2024 and 2025, guiding the team to victory at the WAFU B U-20 Championship, a third-place finish at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, and qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

The presentation underscored the significance of leading a national team to one of football's biggest stages and celebrated Zubair's contribution to youth football development in Nigeria.

As one of the resource persons at the seminar, Coach Zubair shared valuable insights on football coaching, player development, and the evolving relationship between coaches and the media.

The one-day seminar was organised by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter, as part of efforts to enhance media engagement and professional development among football coaches in the state.
