Nigerian coach Aliyu Zubair has officially parted ways with Egyptian second-tier side Telecom SC by mutual agreement.

Zubair confirmed the development, describing the decision as one made with a clear understanding between himself and the club's hierarchy.

"It was a mutual agreement reached with a clear understanding between myself and the management of Telecom SC. I sincerely appreciate the club's management, the players, the technical crew and the wonderful supporters for the opportunity to serve. I wish the club nothing but success in the future," Zubair said.

Although his stay at the Egyptian club was relatively short having joined in November 2025, the highly rated tactician made a significant impact by raising the club's profile and competitive edge.

Under his leadership, Telecom SC reached the semi-finals of the Egyptian FA Cup after eliminating several top-flight opponents, while the team also performed excellently in the Egyptian Second Division League.

The former El-Kanemi Warriors coach also disclosed that discussions with the club's president were cordial, with both parties agreeing that the decision was in everyone's best interest.

"I had a sincere conversation with the club president. He told me that although it pains him to see me leave, he also believes I know what is best for my career. I truly appreciate his understanding and the confidence he showed in me throughout my time at the club."

Zubair further revealed: "My next move will be made known to the public in due course. For now, I remain grateful for the experience at Telecom SC, and I'm looking forward to the next challenge."

Zubair joined Telecom SC after a successful spell in Nigerian football, where he guided El-Kanemi Warriors to the 2024 President Federation Cup title and earned widespread recognition for his tactical acumen. He is also widely respected as a promotion specialist, having guided two different clubs—Gombe United and El-Kanemi Warriors—from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

He is also reputed for leading Nigeria's Flying Eagles to the WAFU B U-20 Championship title before guiding the team to a bronze medal at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and subsequently qualifying the side for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

His impressive achievements in Egypt have further strengthened his reputation as one of Nigeria's most respected football coaches, with many now expected to monitor his next destination
