The Kwara State Foreign and Home-Based Professional Footballers has announced plans to stage the maiden edition of the Harmony Stars Showcase Programme, a football development initiative aimed at celebrating and promoting Kwara State-born professional footballers.

According to the organisers, the event is designed to bring together foreign and home-based players of Kwara origin in a unique exhibition match that will highlight the abundant football talent from the state while fostering unity among players across different leagues and countries.

The programme will feature a novelty encounter between the home-based and foreign-based professional footballers, providing fans and stakeholders with an opportunity to witness some of the state's finest football talents in action.

As part of preparations for the event, the organisers have extended invitations to notable stakeholders in the football community, who are expected to grace the event.

The Harmony Stars Showcase Programme is expected to serve as a platform for networking, mentorship, and the promotion of football development in Kwara State, while also inspiring the next generation of players to pursue professional careers in the sport.

The event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the George Innih Stadium Complex, Ilorin, with kick-off fixed for 4:00 p.m.

Organisers expressed confidence that the showcase will strengthen the bond among Kwara-born footballers and further project the state's reputation as a breeding ground for football excellence in Nigeria.
