Adewale Delighted with Les Panthères Promotion in Benin Republic, celebrates Harmony Stars Showcase Victory on Home Return

Nigerian defender Ahmed Adewale has expressed his delight after helping Les Panthères secure promotion to the top flight of Benin Republic football, while also celebrating victory with the foreign-based players' team at the maiden Harmony Stars Showcase novelty match in Ilorin.

Adewale played a vital role in Les Panthères' successful promotion campaign, contributing a series of commanding defensive performances as the club achieved its objective of reaching the elite division.

Speaking during his holiday break in Nigeria, the former Dynamique FC defender described the promotion as a reward for the hard work and commitment shown by everyone associated with the club.

"I am very happy that we achieved promotion. It was not an easy journey, but we remained focused from the beginning of the season. The players, coaches, management and supporters all played important roles in making this dream a reality," Adewale said.

The defender was also among the foreign-based stars who featured in the maiden Harmony Stars Showcase at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the George Innih Stadium Complex, Ilorin. Although he was substituted in the first half, Adewale was delighted to see the foreign-based team come from behind to secure a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over the home-based side after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

He described the event as a memorable experience and praised the organisers for creating a platform that unites Kwara-born professional footballers from across the world.

"It feels great to be back home and be part of an event like the Harmony Stars Showcase. Seeing players from different clubs and countries come together was special, and I am happy our team won. It was a wonderful atmosphere and a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow professionals and football fans from Kwara State," he said.

Adewale also advised young footballers aspiring to build successful careers in the game to remain disciplined, patient and committed to their development.

"Football rewards hard work. Young players must stay focused, listen to their coaches and never give up on their dreams. There will be challenges, but determination and consistency can take them to great heights," he added.

With promotion secured and a successful return home highlighted by victory in the Harmony Stars Showcase, Adewale will now turn his attention to preparing for life in the Benin Republic top flight as Les Panthères look to make their mark among the country's elite clubs.
