ABS Ilorin FC signs strategic marketing deal with Sport Flames 


In a move aimed at improving the commercial fortunes of the club, Nigeria National League(NNL) side, Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS FC) Ilorin has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sports Flames Limited, a sport marketing and consultancy firm.

The official signing ceremony of the two-year partnership deal was held at the Taiwo Awoniyi Sports Media Centre,Ilorin on Friday.

Speaking at the event,  Director of Football, ABS Ilorin FC, High Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka described the partnership as an initative aimed at improving the fortunes of the club and enhance the its professional values.

He said "This is one of the event that is done to ensure that ABS FC is run professional manner. Sportflames is a sports marketing consultant company and they are joining us in the business of football"

The experienced football administator further explained the new partner are coming to maximise the existing structure and opportuinities around the club, while helping to raise the bar, especially on a "commercial level"

"We are bringing in sport flames who are going to help us in a lot of ways in ensuring that the professionalism in which ABS is known for is sustained such a way that we are going to have fans base activation, sponsorship, marketing and in the area of digitising all our activities" he remarked 

Alloy added that as an household name in the Nigeria football scene and over 20 years of existence, ABS FC, as it is known for will continue to serve as a platfrom for youth and talent development.

In his own remarks, the managing partner of Sport Flames, Olatoye Olawale noted that the company decided to align with ABS FC as a club with standard  operational structure and  developmental in purpose.

While stressing the challenges associated with running football in Nigeria, Olatoye expressed optimisim that the partnership will unlock many potentials aimed at improving the club's stream of revenue, enhance its reputation and sustainability.

He said "It is tough to sustain a club in Nigeria. ABS FC  has a lot of potential and has produced great talents and we believe that as a team that has structure and understand development, if we align,we can achieve great things" 

Olatoye explained that the partnership will open a new vista by improving the club fan base, matchday experience, generate more revenue, digitalise club operation amongst other deliverables.

Other guests who spoke at the event lauded the partnership and expressed optimism about its potential to improve the standard of the club.
