Yewa FC Players Receive Royal Blessings from the Olu of Ilaro Ahead of NLO Clash

The players and management of Yewa FC Academy were warmly received today at the palace of the Olu of Ilaro in Ilaro by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, Asade Agunloye IV.

As the paramount ruler of Yewaland and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, the revered monarch took time to bless the team and offer fatherly guidance ahead of their crucial Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) fixture against Lageski FC on Friday, as well as their future engagements.

Oba Olugbenle prayed for success, protection, and unity for the squad, urging the players to uphold discipline, integrity, and good conduct both on and off the pitch. He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing education alongside their football careers, reminding them that knowledge remains a strong foundation for life after football.

Speaking on behalf of the club, the President of Yewa FC, Mr. Bamidele Solomon, who led the delegation, expressed deep appreciation to the monarch for his warm reception, royal blessings, and invaluable fatherly counsel. He noted that the team is motivated and honored by the royal support as they prepare for the upcoming match.

The visit reflects the strong bond between Yewa FC Academy and the traditional institution, and the club remains committed to representing Yewaland with pride, discipline, and excellence.

Meet Ilorin-born Soliu Ajia Yakubu,Flying Eagles Goalkeeper for AFCON  An Ilorin-born goalkeeper, Soliu Ajia Yakubu, will wear the Nigerian badge at the upcoming U20 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
