Former Commissioner for Tertiary Education in Niger State and Executive Director (Finance), North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu Tachi, has congratulated the Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, on the occasion of his third anniversary in office, describing his administration as impactful and reform-driven.

In a congratulatory message, Prof. Nuhu Tachi said the past three years under Governor Bago have marked a “remarkable era of purposeful governance,” anchored on the New Niger Agenda, which he noted has repositioned the state on the path of sustainable growth and development.

He particularly commended the administration’s unprecedented infrastructural development across the state, stressing that the ongoing road construction, urban renewal initiatives, and rural connectivity projects have significantly improved socio-economic activities and enhanced the living standards of the people.

The former Commissioner also lauded the governor’s strides in the health sector, noting that investments in primary healthcare, facility upgrades, and access to quality medical services have strengthened healthcare delivery and boosted public confidence in the system.

On education, Prof. Nuhu Tachi applauded the far-reaching reforms initiated by the Bago administration, including improved funding, infrastructure development, and policies aimed at revitalizing the sector, describing them as critical to building a knowledgeable and competitive workforce.

Speaking on agriculture, he said the governor’s deliberate shift from subsistence to mechanized farming has revolutionized the sector, creating opportunities for food security, agribusiness expansion, and economic empowerment for farmers across the state.

He further highlighted the administration’s civil service reforms, including improved welfare packages, capacity development, and institutional restructuring, which he said have enhanced productivity and restored dignity to public service in Niger State.

Prof. Nuhu Tachi also commended Governor Bago’s commitment to youth and women empowerment through targeted programmes, skills acquisition initiatives, and inclusive policies designed to create jobs and promote self-reliance among vulnerable groups.

While wishing the governor continued success, Prof. Nuhu Tachi expressed confidence that the administration will sustain the momentum and deliver more people-oriented projects, urging citizens to continue supporting the government’s vision for a greater Niger State.
