Ooni, Olubadan to Grace Ex-Ibadan Professionals vs Ex-Super Eagles Novelty Match, EIPFA School of Sports Launch





The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja are among top dignitaries expected to attend the novelty football match between Ex-Ibadan Professionals and former Super Eagles players slated for Sunday, May 31, 2026.

The event, scheduled for 3:00pm, will also serve as the official launch of the EIPFA School of Sports, an initiative of the Ex-Ibadan Professional Footballers Association aimed at discovering and developing young sporting talents.

Organisers, through a promotional video released ahead of the event, described the presence of the revered monarchs as a major boost to the programme and a reflection of growing support for grassroots sports development.

The novelty clash is expected to bring together several former football stars with roots in Ibadan alongside retired Super Eagles players in what promises to be an entertaining and memorable occasion for football enthusiasts.

According to the organisers, the EIPFA School of Sports is designed to provide young athletes with opportunities to combine education and sports while receiving proper mentorship and professional guidance.

The association noted that the initiative is part of efforts to contribute meaningfully to youth empowerment and the development of sports at the grassroots level.

Fans and stakeholders within the Nigerian football community are also expected to attend the event, which is being positioned as a celebration of football, culture and youth development.

Meet Ilorin-born Soliu Ajia Yakubu,Flying Eagles Goalkeeper for AFCON  An Ilorin-born goalkeeper, Soliu Ajia Yakubu, will wear the Nigerian badge at the upcoming U20 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
