NNL Super Four: Hostility resumes as Inter Lagos, Ranchers Bees Clash in Must-Win Matchday 2

On the back of a disappointing opening match where both teams narrowly lost to their opponents, Inter Lagos and Ranchers Bees will go toe-to-toe in must win Matchday 2 of the 2026 NNL Super Four crunch showdown at Remo Stars Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. 

With both teams desperate to get points on the board, this clash could define their title hopes.

The Lagosians fell 1-0 to Doma United on Monday in a tight encounter where defensive solidity wasn’t enough to earn a result. 

Ranchers Bees, meanwhile, suffered also a 1-0 loss to Sporting Lagos and now need an immediate response to stay in contention for the NNL crown.

The equation is straightforward: lose again and the 2025/2026 NNL title race becomes a steep climb. A win keeps either side firmly in contention with two games still to play.

For Inter Lagos, the focus will be on sharpening their attack. They created chances against Doma but lacked the final touch. Head coach  will likely demand more aggression in the final third while maintaining the defensive discipline that kept Doma at bay for large spells.

Ranchers Bees come into this game with something to prove. After a promising second-division campaign that earned them promotion, their Super Four debut was underwhelming. The Kaduna-based side struggled to contain Sporting Lagos’ pace and transitions, and their manager will be looking for a more compact shape and quicker ball movement.

All four teams — Doma United, Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos, and Ranchers Bees — have already secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League. But the NNL Super Four trophy is still up for grabs, and bragging rights matter in Ikenne.

Wednesday’s result won’t just affect the table. It will set the tone for Friday’s final round of fixtures, where the champion will be crowned.
