NLO 26: La Planet FC defeat Na Royal 1-0 to extend unbeaten run 



La Planet FC on Monday defeated NA Royal FC 1-0 to extend their unbeaten run in the ongoing Nationwide League One (NLO) Group B campaign at the Ilorin Centre.

Captain Majeed Saka Morrow’s 77th-minute penalty was the difference in the tough encounter held at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl in Ilorin.

The victory further saw La Planet maintain their lead at the top of the Group A table with 13 points from five games.

The Coach Sheriff Jimoh-led side have shown class and resilience in this year's NLO season, having won four of their five games and drawn one.

Speaking after the game, an elated Coach Sheriff Jimoh described the victory as a huge one and commended the players for their performance.

“It was a big game and a big victory for us as a team. I give credit to my boys because they really raised their game,” he said.

The gaffer noted that the players were also motivated by the fact that a win against NA Royal “would brighten our chances of qualifying from the group.”

La Planet FC will face Dohz FA in their next game before rounding off the group stage with a clash against Gaa Akanbi FC.
