The 2026 NNL Super Four kicks off in Ikenne-Remo on Monday as Sporting Lagos and Ranchers Bees trade tackles in a curtain-raiser loaded with history, ambition, and NPFL intent.

Both sides have already secured promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League. Now they fight for the 2025/2026 NNL crown — and the bragging rights that come with it.

Sporting Lagos are no strangers to this stage. The Lagos-based club earned promotion to the NPFL in the 2022/2023 season but suffered relegation after a difficult 2023/2024 campaign. 

Unfazed, the _Tech Boys_ regrouped. Built on structure and tactical discipline, they dominated Southern Conference B this season, outpacing established names like Akwa United and Stormers SC to book their Super Four ticket. With NPFL football already sealed, the NNL title would complete a statement comeback.

Ranchers Bees bring legacy and revival to the pitch. The Kaduna traditional side last played in the top flight during the 2010/2011 NPFL season before slipping into a prolonged stint in the lower divisions.

The turnaround came in late 2025 when Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar and Bello El-Rufai acquired the club, injecting fresh investment and promising to restore its past glory. The Bees answered on the field. They battled through a brutal Northern Conference D, edging Jigawa Golden Stars, Yobe Desert Stars, and Adamawa United to win the group and clinch NPFL promotion.

Both teams play on the front foot, but Sporting’s game management in tight matches could prove decisive. Still, write off the Bees at your peril — they’ve made a habit of upsetting odds. 

Expect goals, but expect it to be close. A 2-1 win for Sporting Lagos feels likeliest, but a Ranchers Bees smash-and-grab is very much on the cards.
