Kwara FA appoints Sports Lawyer,Abiola as Assistant Secretary
A Kwara-based lawyer, Ibrahim Temitayo Abiola, has been appointed as the Assistant Secretary of the Kwara State Football Association (FA), in a move aimed at strengthening the administrative and technical operations of the body.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Kwara FA, Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, following a recommendation by the Board of the FA. He noted that Abiola’s appointment is part of efforts to enhance efficiency at the Secretariat.
According to Thuraya, Abiola will work closely with the FA Secretary, Kashim Agaka, providing critical support, particularly in the areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and other technical responsibilities geared towards improving the overall functionality of the association.
Ibrahim Temitayo Abiola is a Nigerian sports lawyer and administrator with over five years of experience in sports governance, compliance, and dispute resolution.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Ilorin and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 2021. He is also currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M).
Over the years, Abiola has built a strong reputation for promoting ethical and sustainable practices within both grassroots and professional football structures. His expertise spans governance systems, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making in football administration.
In addition, he is a Partner at iCorporate Practitioners, where he provides legal advisory services in sports law, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
Abiola has also held key administrative roles, including serving as Secretary of the Pro Route League and as Director of Legal and Compliance for several football organizations. In these capacities, he has managed disputes, ensured adherence to regulations, and improved operational transparency.
