High-Flying Yewa Football Academy maintains perfect run in debut NLO season



Fast-rising Yewa Football Academy have continued their remarkable rise in Nigerian grassroots football after recording three consecutive victories in their debut Nationwide League One (NLO) campaign, further cementing their reputation as one of the country’s most promising emerging football projects.

The Ogun State-based academy, which has already won two trophies within five months, secured international partnerships with European football agencies and successfully transferred players abroad, is now making a strong statement on the national stage with impressive performances in the NLO. Their latest achievements have continued to highlight the rapid progress of the academy founded by Nigerian-Canadian footballer Promise David.

Yewa FA opened their NLO journey with a commanding 3-0 victory over Custom FC, before recording another emphatic 3-0 win against Patriot FC. They further demonstrated their attacking strength with a massive 5-0 triumph over Ramond FC, making it three wins from three matches with eleven goals scored and none conceded.

The academy’s impressive form has been driven by prolific striker Hadi Abdulsalam, who has scored four goals so far, while Omotosho Taiwo has added three goals to the team’s growing tally. Goalkeeper Ridwan Olalere has also played a vital role, keeping three consecutive clean sheets to maintain the club’s perfect defensive record.

With seven matches still left to play, confidence remains high within the squad as Yewa Football Academy intensify their push for qualification to the NNL in their maiden NLO season. The club’s recent achievements, both on and off the pitch, have continued to attract attention within Nigerian football circles, with many already tipping the academy for greater accomplishments in the near future.
