Engr. Ahmed Olaide Congratulates Kwara United On NPFL Survival
Staunch supporter of Kwara United, Engr. Ahmed Olaide, has congratulated the Harmony Boys for successfully escaping relegation at the end of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season despite their heavy defeat to Bayelsa United on Sunday.
Kwara United suffered a 4-0 loss at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa in their final league fixture of the campaign. The Harmony Boys had held their hosts to a goalless draw in the first half despite difficult conditions caused by a waterlogged pitch following persistent rainfall.
However, Bayelsa United took control of the encounter after the restart, scoring four second-half goals to condemn the Ilorin-based side to defeat.
Despite the disappointing result, Kwara United retained their NPFL status after results elsewhere favoured them. The team survived relegation on goal difference following Bendel Insurance’s 1-1 draw against Remo Stars, with the Harmony Boys finishing the season in 16th position on the league table.
Reacting to the outcome, Engr. Olaide praised the resilience of the players and technical crew for battling through a difficult season to secure survival.
According to him, remaining in the NPFL is a major relief for the club and its supporters, while urging the management to immediately begin plans for a stronger and more competitive campaign next season.
He also reaffirmed his unwavering support for Kwara United, expressing optimism that the club can bounce back stronger in the coming season.
