Battle for title heats up in Pro Route League with week 18 fixtures

Gameweek 18 action of the Pro Route League got underway on Wednesday, setting the tone for an exciting round of fixtures as teams battled for crucial points in both the title race and survival fight.

The week kicked off with La Planet FC claiming an emphatic 2–0 victory over Young Antlers FC, keeping their title hopes alive. Goals from Saka Habeeb and OBA Bashir sealed a dominant performance.

FC Zeus returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2–1 win against K-Zeez FA. Early strikes from Akomolafe Peter and Oba Mahmud proved decisive as the Bolts held firm despite a response from John Johnson.

On Thursday, action continued as City Boys FC extended their impressive run with a narrow 1–0 victory over Skillz FC. An early goal from Akanbi Sultan was enough to secure the points, while another clean sheet marked their fourth consecutive shutout in the survival battle.

House of Prayer FA produced a spirited comeback to snatch a late winner against Barrier SC. After Jimoh Mubarak canceled out Olawuyi Bolaji’s early opener, Omodara Olamilekan struck late to push House of Prayer closer to the title race.

Saturday saw Gaa Akanbi FC slow down Ka’ah FC’s title charge with an impressive 3–1 victory. Early goals from Kazeem Teslim and Egwakhide Samuel, despite Shuaib Akeem’s equalizer, gave Gaa Akanbi a 2–1 halftime lead. Twelve minutes after the restart, Femi Ogunbakin added a third to seal all three points.

In the Game of the Week, KFA halted DollyP SA with a narrow 1–0 win to extend their unbeaten run in the second round. An acrobatic finish from Amuda Ayobami proved decisive, sending fans to their feet. KFA also stretched their clean-sheet streak to six consecutive games, having last conceded on January 17, 2026.
