Kwara United Chairman awards scholarships to late club driver’s children

There was sweet relief for the family of the late long-serving driver of Kwara United Football Club, Mr. Ezekiel Akhuete, following the announcement of educational scholarships for his children.

The Club Chairman, Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, has magnanimously approved a full scholarship for two of the deceased’s children. His son, Daniel Ayodeji Akhuete, a 200-level student of Kwara State University (KWASU), will enjoy full sponsorship until the completion of his programme, while Adeshewa Precious, currently in secondary school, will be sponsored through to the end of her secondary education.

In addition, an anonymous benefactor has taken full responsibility for the education of David Olayinka Akhuete, a 100-level student of KWASU, also until the completion of his studies.

The cheering news was announced on Tuesday by the Coordinator of the Friends of Ezekiel WhatsApp Group, a platform set up to mobilise support and raise funds for the family of the deceased. The announcement was made by Prince Ibrahim Taiwo.

Speaking on the development, Prince Taiwo described the gestures by Mr. Kumbi Titiloye and the anonymous donor as a huge relief to the bereaved family, especially at a time of deep loss.
He commended the Kwara United Chairman for his compassion and generosity, while calling on other well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to emulate the gesture in supporting the family of the late club driver, who died while still in active service to the club.
