Princeton College wins double as  Future Starz Championship light up Lagos 



The maiden edition of the Future Starz Championship (Private Schools Invitational Tournament), organized by Springsoca United Academy, lived up to its billing as a thrilling showcase of young football talent and sportsmanship among Lagos private schools.

The championship, which featured Male (Junior and Senior) and Female categories, brought together some of the brightest young players from top institutions, including Covenant Child Academy, Prestige Schools, Princeton College, Longford Schools, Victoria High School, and CIFMAN College.

The tournament produced exciting moments filled with skill, teamwork, and determination as schools battled in round-robin matches for top honors.

In the Female Category, Princeton College emerged champions after an impressive display of technical brilliance to defeat Covenant Child Academy in the final. The same Princeton team continued their dominance in the Male Senior Category, clinching first place ahead of Covenant Child Academy, who finished runners-up.

In the Male Junior Category, Longford Schools put up a commanding performance throughout the competition to claim the top spot, while Princeton College settled for second place.

With its blend of academic excellence and football artistry, the Future Starz Championship reaffirmed Springsoca United Academy’s commitment to discovering and nurturing young talents poised to become Nigeria’s next generation of football stars.

Speaking at the event, Emmanuel Oladapo, Director and Founder of Springsoca United Academy, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the academy’s core mission — to empower every child through football as a tool for talent discovery and international opportunities.

“We believe many of Nigeria’s future stars are right here in our schools, and platforms like this help them express their potential in the right environment,” Oladapo stated.

He also lauded school management and authorities for giving their students opportunity to participate in the championship, adding that they have opened a new vista in creating career pathways for many students.

Oladapo, a sports entrepreneur and marketing expert also thanked partners including Planet Bottling company, True Source, Cidim Sports, Ufitfly, and HelpStation Medics for their support towards making the event a huge success
