25 Players selected as ASM scouting programme wraps up in Abeokuta
A total of 25 players have been selected at the maiden edition of the ASM Football Scouting Tournament, which concluded on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The three-day programme, which kicked off on Tuesday, November 18, featured talented players drawn from various academies and grassroots clubs across the country.
Speaking at the end of the tournament, the Director of ADE Sports Management, Ayo Adeniran, expressed satisfaction with the overall quality of football displayed, noting that the selected players demonstrated technical ability, consistency, and tactical discipline—key attributes sought by participating scouts.
“Regarding the programme, 25 players were selected. ASM is very pleased with the turnout and quality of the players—even those not selected. Everyone gave their best, showed commitment, talent, and skills.
For those selected, it is now our responsibility to position them properly. We are not God, but with hard work, dedication, and the right mentality, we will try to move players to Europe where scouts and clubs desire their profiles. We are pleased with the turnout, the stadium facilities, and everyone who volunteered and supported the screening process,” he stated.
Adeniran added that the main objective of the tournament was to provide a structured platform for grassroots players to be assessed by certified scouts and talent managers with links to international clubs and agencies.
The scouting team, led by Victor Ogunsanya alongside other technical experts, evaluated players over multiple sessions, placing emphasis on consistent performance across all three days rather than isolated moments of brilliance.
Officials confirmed that the selected players will now proceed to the next phase of the programme, which includes further profiling, development, and career pathway alignment.
Organisers also reiterated their commitment to continuity, announcing that the scouting programme will hold twice annually, aligning with the January and July transfer windows to sustain opportunities for young talents.
Participants described the tournament as well-organised, competitive, and a valuable exposure platform, while expressing hope for future editions in various regions across the country.
The ASM team appreciated partners, coaches, scouts, and players for contributing to the success of the inaugural event, promising an even more expanded edition in the next window.
