Kwara State Football Referees Council Hosts Annual Fitness Test

The Kwara State (Football)Referees Council under the Able leadership of the Chairperson Associate professor ( Mrs)M. T. Ajadi is set to host its Annual Fitness Test for all active referees on July 19, 2025, at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl 

The event, which will bring Referees' together from various categories is part of preparation for the forthcoming National fitness test for all league categories.

Named after Nigeria's legendary footballer Rashidi Yekini, the venue is a fitting tribute to the country's football heritage. Yekini, known for scoring Nigeria's first-ever World Cup goal in 1994, was a trailblazer in Nigerian football.

The fitness test will be a crucial evaluation for referees seeking to advance their careers, while the event 
Participants are expected to be on top  physical condition to meet the demands of the test.

This annual assessment is part of the referees' development program, 
Assist them to meet the required standards for the match officiating.

Maiduguri-born Tahur Maigana makes Flying Eagles AFCON squad One of the talents to look out for in the upcoming U20 AFCON is Tahir Maigana The young player who was born and bred in Maiduguri, Borno State, is plying his trade with Wireless Football Club based in Abuja, Nigeria.  The natural left footer is a genius and will wow the spectators during the tournament. Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt. Coach Aliyu has earlier won the heart of Nigerians after leading the team to WAFU-B championship back in October last year and he's banking on their support again to win the AFCON
