KFA Star Boy: Fuhad set to shine for Nigeria in African School Sports Championship

Kwara Football Academy Kid- Sensation, Abdulsalam Fuhad, Embraces New Challenge as Team Nigeria Departs for African School Sports Championship in Algeria

Kwara Football Academy (KFA) teenage football sensation, Abdulsalam Fuhad, is among the 60 talented Nigerian student-athletes who departed for Annaba, Algeria in the early hours of Thursday, July 24, 2025, aboard British Airways. They are set to represent the country at the maiden African School Sports Championship, taking place from July 26 to August 5, 2025.

The 15-year-old midfield gem will don the green and white jersey in the school boys’ football category, as Nigeria fields a competitive squad across 10 sporting events: Athletics (12), Swimming (8), Football (18), Taekwondo (4), Beach Canoe (4), Badminton (3), Basketball 3x3 (3), Beach Volleyball (2), Cycling (2), and Table Tennis (2).

Fuhad’s rise to national attention came in 2023 when he was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Kwara Kiddies League, thanks to an extraordinary season where he scored 9 goals from direct free kicks, helping KFA secure the league title. Known for his lethal left foot and set-piece precision, the young midfielder is already being regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Nigerian grassroots football.

In May 2025, Fuhad added another feather to his cap by captaining the KFA U14 team to victory in the CNS/YSFON Cup, further establishing his leadership credentials and technical maturity beyond his years.

As he joins Team Nigeria on this continental stage, hopes are high that Abdulsalam Fuhad will make a bold statement and further strengthen his path to international stardom.
