10th edition of AMAPRO championship kicks off July 7 in Ilorin

The 10th edition of the prestigious AMAPRO Football Championship is set to begin on Monday, July 7, 2025, in Ilorin, with reigning champions Abraysports FC looking to make history by winning a third consecutive title.

Abraysports FC, who clinched back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024, will kick off the tournament against Unity FA in a Group A opener scheduled for 8:00 am at Pitch A of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA).

Also in Group A, Kasam FC will face off with Laycon FA in another early kickoff, taking place simultaneously at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, George Innih Stadium.

In Group B, 2023 finalists and host team KFA will take on Gateway Football Academy at 10:00 am at KFA Pitch A. KFA will be aiming to reclaim the crown they lost to Abraysports in the final two years ago.

At the same time, DollyP FA will square up against Dickalo FA at the Main Bowl in what promises to be a fiercely contested tie in Group B.

Afternoon action shifts to Group C, where HMK FC will battle DA Faria SC at 2:00 pm at KFA Pitch A. Meanwhile, Gaa Akanbi FC will play Araba FC at the Main Bowl in another 2:00 pm kickoff.

Group D will take center stage in the final round of matches for the day. NPFL All Stars, who reached the final in 2024, will be looking to start strong in their clash against Excel FA at 4:00 pm at the Main Bowl. At the same time, HOP FA will take on Discovery FA at KFA Pitch A.

The opening day of AMAPRO 2025 promises a full slate of exciting fixtures as 16 teams begin their quest for glory in what has become one of the top talent-showcasing tournaments in grassroots football.
