Eruda Youths Hold 4th Edition of Ileya Football Fiesta



Youths from Eruda community in Ilorin gathered on Saturday for a fun-filled event to mark this year's Ileya festival with their annual football fiesta. 

The football fiesta, aimed at fostering unity and love amongst the youths, was held at the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin.

Divided into six different groups, Team Five were eventually crowned the winner of the football fiesta, having amassed the highest points (10) following round-robin matches.


Speaking at the event, Alhaji Olanrewaju Abdulrasheed Rocky commended the youths for the initiative and pledged to further support them. 

"I am very happy to be here with you today and I am pleased with what I have seen. Our community, Eruda, is known for love, peace, and harmony, and this event has once again demonstrated that. We will ensure that this event will be bigger and better next year, In Sha Allah."


Trophies, medals, and prizes were presented to the winners to reward their outstanding performances.

Maiduguri-born Tahur Maigana makes Flying Eagles AFCON squad One of the talents to look out for in the upcoming U20 AFCON is Tahir Maigana The young player who was born and bred in Maiduguri, Borno State, is plying his trade with Wireless Football Club based in Abuja, Nigeria.  The natural left footer is a genius and will wow the spectators during the tournament. Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt. Coach Aliyu has earlier won the heart of Nigerians after leading the team to WAFU-B championship back in October last year and he's banking on their support again to win the AFCON
