History as Kwara United reach final of President Federation Cup for the first time

Kwara United have written their name in Nigerian football history, securing a place in the final of the President Federation Cup for the first time ever, after edging Rangers International 1-0 in a tightly contested semi-final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

The match began with intensity as both sides battled for dominance. Kwara United looked more purposeful from the start, controlling possession and dictating play. Despite several opportunities in the opening half, the breakthrough eluded both teams, and the first 45 minutes ended goalless.

The second half resumed with the same energy, but it was the Harmony Boys who seized their moment. In the 51st minute, a well-crafted move culminated in the decisive goal — a finish that sent the Kwara United supporters into raptures and put the team on course for a famous victory.

From then on, it was a show of grit and discipline. Kwara United defended resolutely and managed the game with maturity, denying Rangers International any clear route back into the contest. The final whistle confirmed not just a win, but a monumental milestone in the club’s history.

This victory means Kwara United are into the Federation Cup final for the very first time, an achievement that reflects the growth, determination, and ambition within the squad and coaching crew.
