Coach Aliyu Zubairu congratulates NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau on emergence as WAFU Zone B Leader 


The Head Coach of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria,Aliyu Zubairu has congratulated the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF) Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau on his emergence as the new acting President of CAF West Zone B(WAFU Zone-B)

Alhaji Gusau succeeds Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku following the latter’s resignation and enjoys strong support among the zone’s members to bring continuity and dynamism to WAFU Zone B.

In a statement personally signed by Coach Zubairu on Tuesday, he described the emergence of Alhaji Gusau as a testament to his unflinching dedication and commitment to the development of football both at the domestic and international level.

He expressed confidence that as the Nigeria Football continues to witness great transformation under Alhaji Gusau's leadership, the WAFU Zone B union football development will also experience new leaps and bounds with the capacity and tenacity of purpose of its new leader.

He said "On behalf of myself and my family, I want to specially congratulate the President of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahin Gusau, on his emergence as the President of WAFU Zone-B. This is a testament to your visionary leadership and dedication to the growth of the game, and we are very proud of this moment. "

The gaffer who has just led the Flying Eagles of Nigeria to securing the FIFA U20 World Cup ticket and a third place finish at the U20 AFCON, however, wished Alhaji Gusau success as he takes on his new role.

The WAFU-B regional football union comprises of countries like Nigeria, Niger Republic, Benin Republic, Cote'Divoire, Burkina Faso,Ghana and Togo.
