Organizers Hail Progress of Seyi Tinubu Cityzens Cup in Kwara



Head of Organizing Committee for the Seyi Tinubu Citizens Cup, Mr. Bello Aliyu Olamilekan, alongside championship partner and CEO of Steady Global, Tijani Lawal, have expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout and commendable maturity exhibited by the participating teams and players in the Kwara edition of the tournament.

Speaking during a media chat, Mr. Olamilekan praised the high standard of play, discipline, and respect for the rules observed so far.

> “For me, I like the way the game is going. It has been energetic, respectful, and security-conscious. We are truly happy,” he remarked.
He emphasized that the competition is achieving its intended vision—highlighting soccer artistry, discipline, and unity among young Nigerians. He noted that the tournament’s successful start gives confidence that it will end well.

Mr. Olamilekan also pointed out that the unity of purpose among Kwara youths is one of the key reasons for staging the competition, expressing hope that extending it to different locations will further promote love and togetherness among the youth.

He commended the Kwara State Government for its support and sponsorship, which he said created the right environment for the tournament to thrive.

On his part, Tijani Lawal described the euphoria and excitement around the games as encouraging and said that more thrilling moments are expected as the competition progresses.

The next matches are scheduled to take place at Karuma Secondary School in Akerebiata, Kwara Football Academy (KFA), and the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, continuing the momentum of what has been a vibrant showcase of grassroots football talent.
