Gaa Akanbi FC welcomes Umar Faruq to Ilorin as Shooting Stars face Kwara United 


Gaa Akanbi FC are delighted to welcome one of their products and Shooting Stars wonderkid , Umar Faruq to Ilorin,Kwara State Capital 

Faruq joined Shooting Stars of Ibadan from Gaa Akanbi FC a few years ago. He grew through the ranks of the Ibadan based side and officially joined the senior team at the beginning of the current season.

The young lad was part of the Oluyole Warriors team that traveled for the NPFL week 20 rescheduled game against the Harmony Boys.

The Technical Adviser of Gaa Akanbi, Coach Bashir Abolarinwa on behalf of the management,coaching crew and fans welcomed Umar Faruq and thanked Shooting Stars for giving the lad opportunity to thrive.

"We are very happy to welcome Umar Faruq and all the Shooting Stars team to Ilorin. He has been a very good ambassador of our team and we are proud of his progress. We are also grateful to the management and coaches for the support giving to the young lad" he said.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) rescheduled Matchday 20 fixture between Kwara United and Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC) set Ilorin alight.

The game will take place at 4:00 PM at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the Major General Agbazika  George Innih Stadium, Ilorin

Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt.
