Asa LG emerges champions of Sardauna Cup 



Young and energetic football team of Asa Local Government have emerged the champions of the
maiden edition of the Sardauna Cup Under-16 football competition.

The team who rallied back into the game after conceding earlier defeated their opponents, Offa local government 5-4 on penalties after playing 1-1  in the regulation time 

The well attended final game which was held at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the Major General Agbasika Innih Stadium Ilorin on Wednesday drew dignitaries across the length and breadth of the state including the Deputy Governor of Kwara State,  Elder Kayode Alabi.

The tournament was organized in honor of the 65th birthday celebration of Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who also doubles as the SardaunaIlorin Emirate, bringing together teams from all 16 local governments.

The final game was preluded by a novelty match between members of the Kwara State Executive council and Members of the Kwara State House of Assembly.

It was organised by Ultimate Sports Consult under the leadership of Alhaji Owolabi Agbaji Wopa , an experienced football administrator who also doubles as the Chairman of Ilorin West Local Football Council.
