2027: Professor Fatai Aremu declares readiness to serve people of Kwara central senatorial district

Professor Fatai Aremu, popularly known as Dadin-Kowa, has accepted the call from Kwara youths to contest for the Kwara Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 elections. He made this known during a program organized by the Kwara Youth Mobilization for Good Governance (KWYMGG) in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Speaking at the event, themed “Youth, Governance and Development: Celebrating Professor Fatai Aremu’s Contributions,” the professor expressed deep gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in him by the youths. He pledged to prioritize sustainable youth empowerment and meaningful development if given the opportunity to serve.

“I am a passionate and committed supporter of youth empowerment,” Aremu said. “And I mean true empowerment—creating dignified and fulfilling job opportunities that young people can be proud of. This is what will allow them to provide happy and secure lives for themselves and their families.”

Aremu emphasized that current policymakers often fail to understand the aspirations of young people. He highlighted the need for leaders to listen more closely to the younger generation’s needs, rather than dictating terms or dismissing their potential.

“The older generation often sees young people as inexperienced or demanding. But how will they gain experience if they are not given opportunities? It’s essential to let the youth define their goals and support them every step of the way,” he added.

However, Professor Aremu clarified that he has not yet declared affiliation with any political party. He emphasized that his focus remains on serving the community and ensuring the interests of Kwara Central residents are represented effectively.

“I’m not going to the Senate as Professor Aremu; I’m going to represent you,” he declared, reinforcing his commitment to the people.

He concluded by thanking KWYMGG for organizing the event and commending their efforts in promoting youth engagement and good governance in Kwara State.
