ABS Ilorin FC Dedicates Victory to Late Joseph Igiri

Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club has paid a heartfelt tribute to our  late former Welfare  Officer, Joseph Igiri, by dedicating our hard-fought 2-1 victory over Godswill Akpabio FC to his memory.

Joseph Igiri served our club with unwavering dedication for over a decade, and his contributions to our team's success were immense. His passing on December 20, 2024, after a brave battle with illness, has left a gaping void in our team.

As a mark of respect, a one-minute silence was observed before the game in his honour, a poignant reminder of his enduring impact on our club.

Director of Football, Chief Alloy Chuwuemeka, remembered Igiri as a "passionate and dedicated servant" who gave his all to our club. "He will be greatly missed," Chuwuemeka added, reflecting on the profound impact Igiri had on our team.

The victory over Godswill Akpabio FC, secured through Moshood Olaniyan's late penalty kick, was a fitting tribute to Igiri's memory. Our team's determination and resilience on the pitch were a testament to the values Igiri instilled in them during his time at our club.

As we continue to mourn the loss of our beloved Welfare Officer, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through our team's successes.

The victory dedicated to Igiri's memory serves as a poignant reminder of his enduring impact on our club.
