Nationwide FC wins sixth edition of Kay Cup 



Nationwide Football Club has emerged the champions of the sixth edition of Kay Cup tournament.

The team, who only tasted defeat once through the tournament, defeated Waziri FC 3-0 in the final played on Friday evening at the Kwara Football Academy pitch.

Goals from Charles Igwe, Mustapha and Karatu Abdulkareem gave the Coach Lukman Orire-led side a deserving victory.

The tournament, which has been regarded as one of the best organised football events, came to a conclusion with a thrilling contest on Friday.

Technical Director of the Kwara Football Academy and ex-Nigerian international,  Sam Elijah (MON) performed thr official kick off in thr final.
The chief organiser, Kola Marazzina Coker, described this year's edition as a huge success.

"We are very happy with the success of this year's edition. It's a huge win. Congratulations to the winner.

Marrazina also thanked the sponsors of the tournament , Olukayode Atoyebi Foundation, for supporting the project right from the onset.

"We thank our sponsors , members of the organising committee, participating teams and all the Football stakeholders who supported us" he said.

He added that the next edition of the tournament will be bigger,better, and stronger.
