Plateau United GM promises improved security at match venue, remains positive of achieving club's targets

The General Manager of Plateau United, Habila Hosea Mutla, has promised an improved security measure at their home ground for league games.

The football administrator made the assurance while speaking to journalists recently in reaction to some sanctions and fines meted out on the team due to the alleged assault of a Referee and attack on Rangers Int'l FC bus leading to one of the players being injured after their match day ten encounter again the league champions.

While describing the incident as unfortunate, he maintained that it's never in the character of the club' fans to attack their visitors, adding that one of its priorities is to ensure safety for everyone.

He expressed his disappointment on how the incident on Rangers' player , which happened kilometres away from the stadium, is attached to the club.

"The reported assault on the referee was a minor one and we took care of him immediately by taking him to hospital after the Red Cross officials had already attended to him.

He explained further that the alleged stoning of the away team's bus might have been perpetrated by unknown miscreants whose actions are not in any initiated or supported by the club.

"After the completion of the three matches closed door punishment, we will improve the security architecture in and around the stadium and ensure that any team coming to play against us are well protected"

The general manager also mentioned that the club will effect a new sitting arrangement in the stadium to forestall any form of assault on either match officials and away team.

Despite the three point deduction and other sanctions, he expressed optimism that the club will not lose sight on its target of winning the league, adding that the club will continue to improve on its performance.

"We entered the league to win and not to make appearance. We are still very committed to that, and we will approach every game as it comes. The league is a marathon and it's fight till the end. "

While noting an improved officiating in the league, he also commended the league organisers for their efforts in raising the bar, an omen that he say has further increased the credibility of the league.

The General Manager also lauded the effort of Plateau State Governor Caleb Muftwang for his commitment to youth and sports development, noting that as sports loving Governor, his numerous intervention is taking the state back to its glory days.
