Gold Cup: Muri Dagbo wins Darajeph player of the match award



Muritala Dagbo of ASVO FC of Benin Republic has won the Darajeph player of the match award following his side 3-0 loss to Beyond Limits in their Optima Energy Gold Cup opener on Thursday.

Dagbo who recently teamed up with the team was outstanding for his side in the encounter.

The young and promising defender didn't only clear off chances from the opponent but also had the most tackles and duels won. 

Speaking about the award, the former Kwara United defender thanked the organisers and rued the defeat. 

"We were not happy about the result of the game but it's a wake up call for every one of us. I thank the organisers for the award and I will continue to do my best. 

Coach Fatai Osho ASVO FC led side will be looking forward to a redemption when they face Ijebu United in the next game billed for Saturday, August 17 at 10am.

Muri was presented the award by the Brain behind the Gold Cup tournament, Tunde Shamsudeen.
