Gaa Akanbi FC acquires NLO division one slot 

In another move to further develop and expose their footballers to more opportunities, Gaa Akanbi FC Ilorin has acquired a Nationwide League One(NLO)   division one slot.

The slot acquisition was confirmed by the NLO secretariat in a letter dated July 29, 2024.

This development signifies another towering achievement in the history of the club which was officially  founded three years ago.

The Technical Adviser of the team, Coach Abolarinwa Bashir described the development as a memorable one.

"We are indeed happy with this development and it's a great moment for us and another opportunity for us to continue to develop the players and the team.

"I specially thank the CEO of Sages Management, Mr. Yemi Ayoola for making the acquisition of the slot possible.

Gaa Akanbi FC has already become a household name in Kwara State.

The team had recently organised a scouting tournament in conjunction with Sages Management to give opportunity to players to move to Europe.

Ex footballer, Best Tegbo and former Nigerian International, Darlington Omodiagbe were on ground to scout for the players.

The Technical Advisers further thanked the management and players of the team for their efforts, adding that the new development calls for more commitment and dedication.

Gaa Akanbi FC will by the virtue of this status now participate in the next NLO campaign and they look forward to promoting to the Nigeria National League(NNL).

"Yes,our target is to promote to the NNL. It's possible and we believe we can do it" said Coach Abolarinwa.
