Pro Route League strikes partnership with Afriskaut to market players
The organisers of the Pro Route League have reached a landmark partnership agreement with a African scouting platform, Afriskaut.
The pact was signed following a strategic meeting between both parties on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in Lagos.
The Pro Route League (PRL) is a private football league initiated with the sole aim of giving talented footballers opportunity to showcase themselves and maximize their talents.
Afriskaut is a platform that offers football stakeholders with a robust scouting tool to enhance their recruitment decisions.
The partnership which is described as a shared value and commitment will create a vibrant football ecosystem that will engender sustainability for all the parties involved.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Pro Route League, Ibrahim Zubair stated that the idea of the league is to revolutionise the football landscape in Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.
"The project is aimed at changing the narratives and raising the bar of football organisation and talent's marketing.
"Our focus is to create a veritable platform for our footballers and also connect them with real time opportunities.
For the CEO of Afriskaut, Nnamdi Emefo commended the league board for the initiative and described the partnership as timely,assuring that the platform will provide a clear pathway for players to become professional footballers.
He said "We have been looking for platforms like this to change the narrative about the value of Nigerian players and we are happy for this partnership especially with the deliberate effort of the league board to ensure adequate data presentation and performance chart of the players.
He expressed optimism that with the deliberate effort of pegging 60% of players participating in the league below the age of 20, the future for talented players in Kwara state is bright as they will have their performance being monitored by top football clubs in Europe through the Afriskaut platform.
Pro Route League will be contested by 8 teams in a standard league format (Home and Away), resulting in a total of 56 games to be played.
The inaugural season is expected to start on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Kwara Football Academy, Ilorin.
All league matches will be Livestreamed with highlights and statistics of individual players also available to the football market.
