Sports Commission Chairman Welcomes Organisers of Kwara/FA Sport Scouting Programme

The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Magaji, today received the organisers of the Kwara State/FA Sports Scouting programme at his office.


The delegation, led by Programme Coordinator Mr Olawale Olatoye, representative of FA Sport,  Mr Ayodeji Adegbenro, and Chairman of Ilorin West Local Football Council, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Owolabi Agbaji, was given a tour of the state's sporting facilities by the Executive Chairman and the Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako.

The tour included the Mainbowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, where the tournament will be held, and the newly built Squash Court.


Magaji commended the organisers for their initiative, stating that the tournament aligns with the state government's grassroots project, which aims to enhance talent and provide opportunities for young athletes to showcase their skills and advance their football careers. "The Kwara State Government is committed to developing sports at the grassroots level, and this scouting programme is a laudable initiative that aligns with our objectives. We are happy to support this programme and provide the necessary facilities for its success," Magaji said.

"We are passionate about uncovering and nurturing talent in Kwara State, and this programme is a vital step in achieving that goal. I urge all stakeholders to support this initiative, and I assure the organisers of our full backing to make this programme a success." The Executive Chairman added.

The organisers of the Scouting tournament presented the Executive Chairman and Director of Sports with souvenir of the programme.


The Kwara State/FA Sport Scouting programme is scheduled to take place from July 16th to 18th, 2024.

Maiduguri-born Tahur Maigana makes Flying Eagles AFCON squad One of the talents to look out for in the upcoming U20 AFCON is Tahir Maigana The young player who was born and bred in Maiduguri, Borno State, is plying his trade with Wireless Football Club based in Abuja, Nigeria.  The natural left footer is a genius and will wow the spectators during the tournament. Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt.
