Sages Management/Gaa Akanbi FC scouting tournament lights up Ilorin 



No fewer than eight teams are currently participating in the Sages Management and Gaa Akanbi FC scouting tournament in Ilorin. 

The tournament which commenced on Wednesday, June 5, had footballers trooped out en masse to showcase their talents. 

Players from Gaa Akanbi FC, KFA, La Planet, Okaa FC, Foresight FA, Excellence FA, Skills FA and Abraysports FC will all be trying out their luck to snatch the opportunities available through the scouting tournament which is powered by Pro Sports Agency.

Speaking to Journalists at Kwara Football Academy, the venue of the programme, one of the scouts, Darlington Omodiagbe noted that the program is aimed at taking the youth out of the streets.

"This program, on one hand is to give back to society and also to give opportunity to young footballers to  take their career to the next level. 

Also speaking, Tegbo Dum-mene Best expressed his delight at some of the talents see so far in the tournament. 

"We are just starting today but I think we have been able to see some good talents. Meanwhile, we have more days to go and we will have the opportunity to see more. 

Tegbo stated that Pro Sports Agency which is managed  alongside Olakunle Thompson Awoyale is committed to discovering talented footballers and link them up with greener pasture.

The tournament is expected to end on 18th of June. The programme is also a byproduct of the recent partnership sealed between Sages Management and Gaa Akanbi FC.

Maiduguri-born Tahur Maigana makes Flying Eagles AFCON squad One of the talents to look out for in the upcoming U20 AFCON is Tahir Maigana The young player who was born and bred in Maiduguri, Borno State, is plying his trade with Wireless Football Club based in Abuja, Nigeria.  The natural left footer is a genius and will wow the spectators during the tournament. Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt.
