Alege back from injury, ready to take up NPFL job

One of the best Defenders in the NPFL, Abdulquadri Toyin Alege has now fully recovered from injury.

The defender, who last had a  stint with Gombe United has been declared fit and ready to be back on the pitch after recuperating from an injury that ruled him out of the about-to-be-completed NPFL season.

Speaking to journalists earlier in the day in Ilorin, the capital City of Kwara State, Alege described the injury as a temporary setback and humorously cited how he had missed the game.

"No player is totally immune from injury. I am happy to be back and fit now. Although, I really missed the game but I believe the injury is just a temporary setback.

On his next move, Alege, who has always been on the watchlist of top clubs in the elite league declared himself ready to take a good offer from the NPFL ahead of the upcoming season.

"We had a series of talks with some top clubs before the commencement of this season which is about to finish but it didn't materialise. Most of them have kept in contact with me and we will weigh some of the options"he added.

Admired for his composure and tenacity, Alege was part of the consistency-dubbed Gombe United team under the tutelage of Coach Aliyu Zubair.

The former Wikki Tourists of Bauchi talisman, who  stands out as a defender with some of his qualities of agility, good communication skills, strong anticipation, adaptability and flexibility has endeared himself with many suitors in the league.
