Green Lock FC Consults Veteran Developmental Coach, Siji Lagunju to Strengthen Team 



It is said that, "An elderly person at home is like living golden treasure.”

Fast rising Abuja based youth football team, Green Lock  FC in the quest for further development of its players has summoned the experience of former Nigerian International and veteran coach, a former Assistant Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Mr. Siji Lagunju to provide an expert insight on improving the training strategy for the grooming of the players.

Koji as he is fondly referred to is credited with the honors of playing crucial background roles in the successes recorded by the youth teams of the national teams at the various continental and International competitions, particularly in the selection of players and formulation  of training programmes ahead of tournaments. 

Green Lock FC desires to tap into this illustrious capacity ahead of the next phase of its growth and plans. The management is confident Lagunju's eagle eyes, vastly creative mind and broad experience will add new dynamism to  the club's technical department.

Lagunju was a special guest of the club for its friendly match against the U-20 men's National team,  the Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday evening where he was impressed with the immense potentials of the young Green Lock FC boys, noting that the technical department only need to “inject a few tactical and mental discipline to make the team better” 

Exciting times for the Green Lock FC team as he will observe a few training sessions of the team and work with the Green Lock FC coaches to develop training programmes for the team. It is a reunion as Siji Lagunju is a mentor for Bolarinwa Idris and Oluwaseun Oyeniyi, the Chief Coach and his assistant.

Maiduguri-born Tahur Maigana makes Flying Eagles AFCON squad One of the talents to look out for in the upcoming U20 AFCON is Tahir Maigana The young player who was born and bred in Maiduguri, Borno State, is plying his trade with Wireless Football Club based in Abuja, Nigeria.  The natural left footer is a genius and will wow the spectators during the tournament. Recall that Coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Technical Adviser of Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will lead the U20 team to the AFCON in Egypt.
